We are dedicating a new page to
The THREE DAY Event . . . That is
SaltFest 2010
.
The variety of music was magnificent and many Bands gave their all to make
this , hopefully , an annual event .
Nearly all the entertainment took place beneath the splendour of the Brunel Bridge
the acts being shared between the Main Stage at the ‘LIVEWIRE’ youth project centre
the beautifully decorated ‘ UNION’ public house and the attractive ‘BOATMAN’ Pub/Restaurant
If you were lucky , you would be serenaded by some very talented singers in close four part harmony
whilst strolling from the mainly popular folk singing guitar playing solo acts in ‘the BOATMAN’ , to the
Jazz bands , Traditional Folk three and four piece bands and three and four piece ‘covers’ bands playing
at the ‘UNION’. After a swift ‘half’ of real ale and a nostalgic trip down many ‘ memory lanes ‘ we move on to
the fantastic LIVEWIRE Youth Project centre where there is some serious Heavy Stuff to be heard .
Above ’ Gordon & the Bennets ‘ keeping it tight on Sunday afternoon . . .
Did I forget to mention the Band who appeared on Saturday night ?
WELL , they were the only act that cost anybody a dime . . . and they were the DAMNED . . . And they were unsurprisingly
SOLD OUT . . . A great evening had by all .
. . . and joining Dick , Roger and Nigel of the ‘ WESTERN APPROACH
CLOSE HARMONY SINGERS ‘ was . . . . . I never got this fine gentlemans’ name . . . but I will and edit it in later . . . Promise ! !
There was so much going on and it was impossible to catch all the performers . . so I hope it is on for next year and I hope
many of the acts will be back . . . THINGS I MISSED . . . the Buskers , the BRUNEL LADIES CHOIR , African Drummers ,
Music Industry Talk , and far too many of the Bands . THANKS to the ORGANISERS , who seem to remain nameless ,
but we will seek them out . . . . and the sponsors .
FINALLY . . . . . OUR RIPAL find of the Festival . . . goes to the NEEDLETONES . . .
