Boys and their Toys !

We start this series with a walk down memory lane to the heady days of  . . .

‘ the Holiday ‘ program.     This was a travel program discussing the merits of many

holiday resorts around the world , hosted by the smooth talking  Cliff Michelmore ,

who happened to be a big fan of our first featured guest  . . . . . . .

. . .  GORDON   had  recently written a very  ’ High Energy ‘  instrumental called

HEART SONG an extremely memorable number which struck a ‘ chord ‘

with Mr. Michelmore , who consequently used this track for the intros  ,  outros and ‘stings’

for this  ’ top of the ratings ‘ family  holiday show .

GORDON   went on to write many tunes for numerous TV shows and much of his work

has been used for all purposes around the world .

Those of you who will take the opportunity to listen to his works will undoubtedly  recognise

the unique sound he has achieved playing mainly acoustic guitar for over forty years .

To Be Continued !  . . .    THE continuation ! !

Gordon has collected numerous guitars over the years , one way or another !  Nothing sinister here

but he has been treated to some rather special ones which were actually given to him to try out

on a long term basis . Ovation I remember were one of his sponsors , lucky man !

BUT he has also bumped into a few weird and wonderful designs as is demonstrated in the next

picture . . .

YES , your eyes are deceiving you . . .
the WONKY One !

The Neck is perfectly straight . .  no twists or bends , what is weird , is the setting of

the frets . when I saw it , it appeared to have a shorter neck than average and had

this array of ‘ radial ‘ set frets , giving this very strong illusion of being badly buckled

but just to prove all us doubting Thomas’ wrong he sat there and performed a minor

miracle on the thing ! . . . think it would have given me some form of vertigo  ,

Who worked all the geometry on that ?  Obviously had

too much time on their hands !!
