We thought that it might be a good idea to let people have their say about anything  they feel

about  ’ POP ‘ music and the industry that influences our choice of listening matter .

So . . . . off you go then  . . .  Keep it clean ! . . . ( send your contribution to  info@ripal.co.uk )

A    COMMENT   OR  TWO   FROM  A   COUPLE OF

‘BOVVERED  BOYZ ‘  from  BASINGSTOKE  ! . . . .

Hi,
Quick question …..
Just before christmas  we decided to start a  band, we play bass and lead guitar
we’ve managed to get the sound right but what a nightmare  getting
it all together why are people so useless not bothering to turn up to auditions,  ( think we have made
a few comments on this subject ourselves Boys …. so we’re in agreement there ! …..  ED. )
but its all turned out OK we even managed to get and keep a drummer in the end,
We have rehearsed religiously (not on our knees)  … ( we’ll do the JOKES thanks Boys ! ! ! ..ED. )
at least twice a week and are at a point
where we think we are ready to really give it a go. We’ve played to friends and family and yep we’re great.
This is the problem…..how the f**K   (  ….. Err …. could that be  ” Flippin’ hecK , I wonder … !  ED. )
do we get a gig that anybody apart from the wags and parents are going to see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have been round and round and then round again we go to a pub we leave our name they don’t call back
we phone they don’t bother to get back!!!!! we’ve thought about a manager but even this is hard
Any ideas great fully appreciated couple of free tickets to see us play Wembley…..one day!
all the best

Hi  BOYS . . .  Thanks for writing in …. I think I will pass this dilemma over to our trusty

Comment on the Eurovision Song Fiasco !

Well what a VERY different take on what used to be just a Lo-Fi load of poor quality

program making.  It seems to have turned into something representing more glitz and

fireworks than an Olympic opening ceremony . . . in fact the songs now seem to take a

back seat .  Even Graham Norton seemed to be lost for words and that is a tad unusual.

How long before it buries itself deep amongst the continuous storms of ticker tape . . .

maybe that represented the unfortunate volcanic dust clouds . . . and the outlandish

fashionable outfits ?  How strange it is , that beyond a relatively small stretch of water

ideas can become so alienated from our own , about something that we were masters

at . . . once upon a time . . . the good old sing -a- long  POP SONG  . . . Where did we

come this year ?    . . . and as for GERMANY !  . . .

‘OOoooer  Missus ‘ . . . How times have changed . . . .

Comment on . . . The X Factor

From .’  the Ratcatcher’ .  Thought that big haired Jamie was ok , but he is nothing special ,

and the way he sprawled out when being interviewed on a tv

program like some big super star , what arrogance , like his comment

about Louis Walsh not knowing what he was talking about !

are you sure you know what YOU are talking about Jamie

Why is that blond bimboy still in the running….??  Is everyone who voted for him tone deaf….?  Is this the future of British pop…..oh dear….old Cowell has got a lot to answer for.

It seems Simon Cowell is getting set to rule the Planet , in the POP department , anyway .

I believe he is thinking of taking the show to America (again) , but this time to set up headquarters in Las Vegas

and put on continuous shows on the ‘ Pay to View ‘ system .    It sounds like the death of X Factor to me . . .

but not before time . .  the acts are definitely getting weaker each year and seem to be getting

that little more processed and soul less .

It’s about time the Public told him what to do with his X Factor

. . . Simon . . . it’s getting     BORING  !

REMEMBER . . . There are many positive

things written about the  MUSIC  industry

in the CAPTAIN’S  LOGS , where you will find

comments on the real heros of the music business . . .

NOW then . . Now then . . Now THEN ! ! !     Have no fear People , Simon is all set to save us . .

so with the help of YOUR money he gets to save HAITI , claim the honours and get a bundle of

FREE advertising for his ‘ caring ‘ sharing company . . . very convenient , or coincidental ,that

Britain’s Got Talent is just starting its auditions for 2010 . .  Lucky he has his two ‘ Bimbettes ‘

clinging to his side , perfecting their crocodile tear routine , . . .  yes , it brings tears to my eyes

too . . . . .  Just send some of your tax paid cash to them Simon , like we do , and stop trying

to become saviour of the Planet . . . .  it didn’t work for me . . . .

I am absolutely perplexed . . . Why do people advertising themselves as singers

and potential front men or women for bands or other musical projects put themselves

up on public notice boards WITH OUT a picture of themselves OR an audio clip ! ! !

DO THEY THINK WE ARE MIND READERS ? ? ? or just in touch with the other side !

. . . Maybe that should give us a clue that they maybe time wasters  . . . …

So anybody out there who wish to contact us . . . please attach a recent photo and. . . .

MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL . . .  A BLOOMIN’ AUDIO CLIP of your singing style . . . TA !
